Environment Canada reported that as much as 56 centimetres of snow fell in yesterday’s storm, causing flight cancellations, vehicular accidents, severe transit disruptions, along with school and post-secondary school closures across the region.
Although Humber Polytechnic was closed on Sunday and Monday, considerable work had been done overnight to clear the parking lots, roadways and sidewalks.
Virtually empty buses could be seen entering the Humber bus station without impediment.
Several subway lines, as well as the Line 6 LRT, were shut down yesterday. As of Monday morning, Line 6 is back up and running.
