Liberal candidate Doly Begum's lead continues to grow from her closest rivals throughout the night. With all of the 188 polls reporting, she received 69.9 per cent of the vote.

Begum has 20,114 votes compared to 5,300 for the Conservative candidate Diana Filipova and 1,714 for the NDP candidate Fatima Shaban.

Voter turnout was light with about 33.5 per cent of the 85,796 voters catsing a ballot.

Begum addressed her supporters at a Scarborough banquet hall at about 10:30 p.m., offering them her thanks for the strong election showing.

"To each and every single one of you, we worked hard for you over the last two months" Begum said in her speech.

"From the bottom of my heart, I say, thank you, for your positive energy, your patience, and for your big smiles," she said.

Begum appears to have surpassed last election's support, which was 61.5 per cent of the vote. The Conservative support dropped significantly to about 18 per cent from about 30 per cent in 2025.

According to 338Canada, Scarborough Southwest had more than 99 per cent odds to win the riding.

The Conservatives and New Democrats have less than one per cent of winning.

The Conservative Party of Canada have the vote projections of 24 percent and a six percent margin. The NDP's vote projections for Scarborough Southwest are seven per cent and four per cent margin. The Green Party's Vote projection are for three per cent and a three per cent margin.

Last year's federal election saw Bill Bliar winning the riding.

Blair resigned as an MP on Feb. 2, 2026, after the Prime Minister Office announced he will be Canada's next high commissioner to the U.K.

This year's byelection will be looking to replace Blair.

Former NDP deputy leader Doly Begum will run in Scarbough Southwest for the Liberals replacing Bill Blair.

Diana Filipova, the Conservative Party of Canada candidate, previously ran for the Conservatives in the riding of Spadina-Harbourfront last election, but fell short to Liberal's Chi Nguyen.
