Etobicoke North Councillor Vincent Crisanti hosted his annual Christmas market at the Thistletown Community Centre on Dec. 6.
The Albion Islington Square BIA, the Rexdale Community HUB, Thistletown Lions Club, Arts Etobicoke and Albion Neighbourhood Services – Boys and Girls Club all helped in hosting the community gathering.
It was a lively and well-attended event, complete with craft vendors, live music, a balloon-animal-making Santa, free samosas, hot chocolate, and a magic show.
“I got great staff that just really worked hard to coordinate and organize this event,” Crisanti said. “So I want a big shout-out to them and shout-out to the community that's already there participating in this event.”
Crisanti said the community looks forward to this event every year, and he has plans to bring back the Santa Claus parade in the future.
Crisanti said he appreciates his constituents and encourages them to “stay engaged with his office,” and continue to work together for a better 2026.
“I just want to thank them for their contribution to keeping our community safe and clean, and thank them for continuing to support the events that we have and we host, like this one today,” he said.
Crisanti said he welcomes the Finch West LRT as a win for his community and for Humber Polytechnic students and staff.
The 10.3-kilometre, 16-stop Finch West LRT officially opened Dec. 7, a couple of years behind schedule for $3.7-billion.
“My next step with that LRT is to advocate for the continued extension of the LRT south to a new GO station, which is going to be built at the corner of Belfield and Highway 27, just south of the racetrack,” he said. “(This will be) closing the gap for full connectivity for Etobicoke North residents to be able to go wherever they want, downtown, the airport, anywhere in the GTA.”
Construction to add the Woodbine GO to the Kitchener-Union Station Line began in June.
