Since 2018, Ward 1 Etobicoke North has been bordered by the Humber River, Dixon Road to Martin Grove Road, Eglinton Avenue West and Hwy. 427 to 401.
These boundaries were changed to their current state during the 2018 municipal election campaign.
Before the boundary adjustment, Vincent Crisanti, currently on his fourth term as councillor, represented Old Ward 1, with Michael Ford representing Old Ward 2.
After the boundary changed to one merged ward, Ford and Crisanti ran against each other for the seat, which Ford won in 2018.
When Ford later won the Legislative Assembly of Ontario election in 2022, Crisanti, who finished second in 2018, was elected councilor of Ward 1 after Rosemarie Bryan, who was originally appointed to replace Ford, resigned less than six hours after being sworn in.
